Incoterms

The purpose of the Incoterms is to define responsibilities, risks and levels of insurance between MSF Supply and the partner. However, MSF Supply has adapted some of them to better serve its partners.

Incoterms used by MSF Supply:

CIP, Carriage insurance paid for:

• Air

• Maritime

• Road

• Multimodal

• Charter

DAP: Delivered at place for:

• Express

1. CIP: Carriage insurance paid according to definition

• Incoterm for initial and multimodal sales it is based on the principle of CIF.

• The seller chooses the carrier and pays the freight for the transport of the goods to the agreed place of destination.

• It is the seller who will take out transport insurance. The transfer of costs takes place at the place of arrival.

• The risk of loss or damage is transferred to the buyer as soon as the goods are handed over to the carrier. If successive carriers are used: the risk is transferred upon handover of the goods to the first carrier.

• The goods will be cleared for export by the seller.

• The seller is obliged to provide transport insurance against the risk of damage to the goods or their loss during transport. This insurance must be taken out so that the buyer or any other person having an interest in the goods is entitled to make his claim directly to the insurer.

Use of this incoterm between MSF Supply and partners

• MSF Supply bears the risk of loss or damage until arrival at the partner's dispatch address.

• In the event of a problem, MSF Supply will take care of settling disputes with the insurance company.

2. DAP: Delivered at place

• Multimodal Incoterm.

• The seller takes care of the transport of the goods to the agreed delivery point. He assumes the costs and risks up to this point.

• The goods are made available to the buyer at destination on the means of transport, without being unloaded.

• The buyer organises the off-loading.

• The buyer carries out the import formalities and pays the import duties and taxes due.
