Specific Transport solutions
Description of the service
1. Objective
This sheet presents in details the different transport solutions that MSF-Supply can offer. MSF-Supply is committed to finding innovative solutions adapted to contexts that are difficult to access by conventional modes of transport, while respecting good transport conditions so that goods are delivered in the best conditions (price, time, quality). |
2. Scope
Here are the different transport solutions that MSF-Supply can offer:
2. Multimodal: for more complex or more expensive destinations, the use of several consecutive modes of transport can be considered:
3. Semi-direct transport: Transport organised by MSF Supply directly from the supplier to partners. 4. Direct transport: Transport organised by the supplier directly from the supplier to the partners. These 2 types of direct or semi-direct transport can have certain advantages depending on the destination: reduce costs, facilitate import procedures, reduce delivery times. A prior analysis must be made to see if this mode is really advantageous according to the destination and by taking a certain number of criteria:
It is for this reason that the final decision will always stay with MSF-Supply after studying each case. Before organizing a direct transport, MSF Supply will take all relevant factors into consideration in order to choose the most appropriate solution (freight consolidation, import restrictions . . .).

Use of the service
The choice of a specific transport solution must be made jointly between MSF-Supply expedition department and the partner. The overall analysis of routings and specific transport solutions will be done during the elaboration of the SLA and will be followed and reviewed regularly if necessary. |
Conditions
The supply chain management of a mission must be adapted to the country in which it is located. These specific characteristics are reflected in the country sheet of each mission. This document is written jointly by MSF Supply partners, expeditions and operations departments. The country sheet is the reference document for all stakeholders for the partner's supply management and should be regularly updated to ensure that everyone is working with the latest information available. For the transport part this is where the following information by mode of transport will be found:
Without this basic information, MSF Supply will not be bale to carry out its mission. |
