Production of kits

MSF-Supply has developed an extensive expertise in the assembly of kits. MSF-Supply has a permanent stock of kits at the request of the Emergency Units, as availability must be immediate in case of emergency. A minimum stock for some important kits is planned for regular missions with a high turnover rate.

A kit is a set of materials and items, selected and assembled to respond to a crisis situation, and particularly to a specific scenario (vaccination, emergency surgery, cholera epidemic, etc.).

The production and follow-up of medical and logistics kits must follow specifications defined by the OCs. This involves ensuring storage, shipment under good distribution conditions (GDP) and permanent traceability of the kit and its components (medical, customs and documentary).

The expiry date of the kit is defined by the article expiring first

The kit production service within MSF-Supply meets the "MSF standards" in accordance with the ITC catalog and the GDP. This catalog is reviewed every year and validated by the medical and/or logistic directors of the 5 sections.

Excluded services:

• No production of kits with items under customs control for hand freight

• No production of kits with  narcotics (only bulk sales) for all transport modes.

• No reservation of kits in the store (blocking of kits for a mission).

• No production of uncomplete kits

• No launching production lines of kits during emergency time, due to availability of items.

• No delocalization of medical kits under the responsibility of MSF-SUPPLY

The request for the creation of a kit must go through the operator desks either by email or via a technical order with for both cases the most complete description of the request (Packing, content, quantity, number of kit to be manufactured, destination, specific constraint, ....)

The operator desks will evaluate the request with the concerned technicians.

• Case for the production of EBOLA hygiene kits depending on technical specifications

• ITC Kits not in the OCB catalog (Kit Risk, Must2, etc.)

Standard documentary service for kits

 Yes for standard documentary service existing in our database (Mainly batch tracking) :special kit label, manufacturing number, product shelf life, packing list on the first package and content list…

Yes but only for exportation with customs process.
