Priority or urgent orders allow a preferential treatment over normal orders.

This definition was developed in collaboration with the other central ESC's and in inter OC (Supply) under the recommendations of the DELOITTE supply audit.

Distinction between "priority" and "urgency":

Priority

Refers to an order that meets a priority need but whose items do not endanger the lives of people if they are not delivered very quickly. MSF Supply commits to processing within 15 calendar days, depending on stock availability.

Emergency

An order that responds to a sudden change in context that puts people's lives at risk.

MSF Supply commits to an RTS within 48 hours if it is linked to an emergency stock, otherwise within 72 calendar hours, depending on stock availability and the number of emergencies already in progress

For more information, see the FAQ here.

2. Scope

Partners have the possibility to place orders with an official Priority or Urgency level. Within MSF Supply, this is managed by the Emergency Coordinator or Operations Coordinator. Depending on whether it is a Priority or Urgent order request, it is the responsibility of the mission, cell or Emergency Pool to make the specific request and have it validated so that an Emergency/Priority number is issued by the Emergency Coordinator.
